Sherry E. Baskin, Esq.
Sherry Baskin is the Capital BlueCross Corporate Secretary. As an officer of the corporation, Ms. Baskin is responsible for performing duties as directed by the CEO, the Board, and the Executive Committee. She oversees the company’s corporate, Medicare, and other government compliance programs. She has been with the company since 2006.
Immediately prior to joining Capital BlueCross, Ms. Baskin served as Senior Administrative Law Clerk to a Pennsylvania Supreme Court justice. Before that, she practiced health care law as a partner in several Philadelphia law firms where she represented hospitals and other providers of health care services. She also served as an Assistant Regional Attorney for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. As an adjunct to her former law practice, Ms. Baskin founded a company that assisted aging individuals and their families in navigating the health care system and also served as a court-appointed guardian of legally incapacitated persons.
Ms. Baskin is a Pro Bono Guardianship Monitor for the Dauphin County Orphans’ Court. In 2012, Ms. Baskin received the Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year award from the Dauphin County Bar Association and was named one of the YWCA’s Women of Excellence. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Cultural Enrichment Fund.
Ms. Baskin is a native of Harrisburg and graduated with honors from Duke University and the Temple University School of Law.
