Capital BlueCross Promotes Seven Employees

HARRISBURG, Pa. (Feb. 28, 2011) – Capital BlueCross recently announced seven employee promotions.

Glenn Heisey was promoted to vice president, Strategy and Planning. In that capacity, Heisey is responsible for coordinating implementation of the company’s strategic plan and development of the annual operating plan.

Heisey, of Hampden Township, Cumberland, County, is a graduate of Messiah College and the Dickinson School of Law. He has been with Capital BlueCross for 17 years.

Sherry Baskin is the new Corporate Secretary. As an officer of the Corporation, Baskin is responsible for performing such duties as are directed by the CEO, the Board, or the Executive Committee.

Baskin resides in Camp Hill. She is a graduate of Duke University and the Temple University School of Law. She has been employed at Capital BlueCross for four and one-half years.

Jim Bohenick assumed the position of Senior Director, Corporate Planning and Strategy Integration. In this capacity, Bohenick is responsible for the design and execution of an integrated strategic planning process, including performance monitoring and evaluation, and resource allocation and management.

Bohenick, of Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County, holds two degrees from Shippensburg University. He has been with the company for two years.

Dave Vassilaros was promoted to director, Health Care Reform & Regulatory Affairs. He is responsible for leading a team of company experts in compliance and strategy efforts related to the new health care reform law. He also serves as liaison to the Pennsylvania Insurance Department for regulatory issues.

Vassilaros, of Mechanicsburg, is a graduate of Muhlenberg College and the University of Connecticut School of Law. He has been with Capital BlueCross for nearly three years.

Patty Elgin was promoted to director, Strategy Implementation Support. Her role entails identifying risks, interdependencies and resource requirements to uphold the company vision.

Elgin, of Mechanicsburg, is a graduate of Albright College and Villanova University. She has been with the company for nine years.

Stacy Balaban was named Senior Director, Strategy Development. In her new role, Balaban will be responsible for facilitating the on-going development and communication of the company’s strategy, and will also evaluate and execute strategic business development projects.

Balaban, of Mechanicsburg, is a graduate of Lafayette College and Temple University. She has been with Capital BlueCross for 16 years.

Renae Kluk Kiehl is the new assistant corporate secretary. In this role she supports the corporate secretary and the Board of Directors. As an officer of the company, she is also responsible for corporate governance issues regarding the company and its subsidiaries.

Kluk Kiehl, of Harrisburg, is a graduate of Clarion University and the Widener University School of Law. She has been with Capital BlueCross for two and one-half years.
