Capital Blue Cross Announces Three Promotions
HARRISBURG, Pa. (Sept. 18, 2012) – Capital BlueCross recently promoted three employees to key corporate positions.
Dr. Jennifer Chambers was promoted to vice president & chief medical officer. In this capacity, she is responsible for leading the Capital BlueCross medical director team, and the utilization management, medical policy and quality improvement functions.
Doctor Chambers, of Hummelstown, Dauphin County, is a graduate of Millersville University, Penn State University, and the Penn State College of Medicine. She is board certified in internal medicine and in hospice and palliative medicine. Doctor Chambers has been with Capital BlueCross for more than five years, having previously served as a senior medical director.
Dr. Rick Hammer is now vice president, clinical market development. In his new role, Doctor Hammer is responsible for the company’s accountable care arrangement initiatives, while developing and advancing clinical capabilities to support the evolving needs of the community.
Doctor Hammer, of Hershey, Dauphin County, is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and the MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He is a board certified pediatrician and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He has been with Capital BlueCross for more than three years, having previously served as a senior medical director.
Tracy Onorofsky is the new senior vice president, commercial group sales. In this role, Onorofsky oversees the company’s small and large group sales, group broker sales, labor sales, and account management operations. She holds a number of professional designations, including certified health consultant and managed health professional. She also holds a Pennsylvania Insurance Agent’s license for life, accident & health, and fixed annuities.
Onorofsky, of Kempton, Berks County, is a graduate of Elizabethtown College. She has been with Capital BlueCross for 22 years and previously served as vice president of sales.
