Capital BlueCross lands on list of top 500 technology innovators in the country

HARRISBURG, Pa. (Sept. 20, 2013) – Capital BlueCross has been named to Information Week 500’s list of top 500 innovators nationwide.

Capital BlueCross earned a spot on this prestigious list because of its work to implement My Coverage SelectorSM, a private web-based health insurance exchange that was launched last fall as one of a series of initiatives by the company to meet the needs of the business and consumer communities.

“Having a presence on this list is a testament to the unique and forward-thinking work that Capital BlueCross does on behalf of our customers,” said Mark Caron, senior vice president and chief information officer. “As the health care landscape continues to change, we are evolving with it in order to meet our customers where and how they want to conduct business.”

InformationWeek identifies and honors the nation's most innovative users of information technology with its annual InformationWeek 500 listing, and also tracks the technology, strategies, investments, and administrative practices of some of the best‐known organizations in the country. Only organizations with $250 million or more in annual revenue are invited to participate in the study.

"The theme of this year's InformationWeek 500 is digital business. It's a movement, rooted in data analytics, mobile computing, social networking and other customer‐focused technologies that are turning companies and industries on their ear," said InformationWeek editor in chief Rob Preston. "Every enterprise is now a digital business — or needs to become one fast. The organizations in our ranking are leading the way."
