Todd Shamash joins Capital BlueCross as deputy general counsel, head of Regulatory Affairs

            HARRISBURG, Pa. (April 8, 2014) -- Todd Shamash, former deputy chief of staff for Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett, has joined Capital BlueCross as deputy general counsel and head of Regulatory Affairs.

In this capacity, Shamash will assist with corporate legal matters and provide oversight for activities involving government regulation.

Shamash has worked on health care provider, payer, managed care and reimbursement matters his entire legal career. He was previously responsible for health care and insurance matters for Governor Corbett, where he also served as a trustee on the Pennsylvania Employee Benefits Trust Fund (PEBTF).

Prior to serving in the governor’s office, Shamash was senior counsel and director of Government Affairs for Jefferson Health System in Radnor, Pa. He also has held positions with the Pennsylvania Insurance Department and U.S. Congress.

A current commissioner of the Department of Banking and Securities, Shamash is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and the Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University.
