Capital BlueCross, Girl Scouts partner to
recognize World Thinking Day

HARRISBURG, Pa. (Feb. 20, 2015) – Capital BlueCross is partnering with the Girl Scouts of Southern Lehigh Service Unit 749 for a day of fitness and fun in celebration of World Thinking Day on Feb. 21 at Southern Lehigh Middle School in Center Valley, Pa.

During World Thinking Day, girls participate in activities and projects with global themes to honor their sister Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in other countries. The theme for World Thinking Day 2015 is “Dance Around the World.”

Capital BlueCross is providing several activities throughout the day, including Zumba, The Organ Wise Guys couch potato healthy living program, and proper eating/nutrition seminars.

“From a far-away land to your own backyard, we can engage each other in dance, fitness, nutrition, and simple activities of daily living to create a happy and peaceful atmosphere,” said Jenn Natalie, senior manager of Capital Blue, Capital BlueCross’ health and wellness retail store that is providing the healthy sessions. “Partnering with the Girl Scouts is an excellent way to share the message that health and wellness plays a big role in the way people care for themselves and each other.”

“About 200 Southern Lehigh Girl Scouts and volunteers will be dancing around the world on World Thinking Day tomorrow,” said Girl Scouts of Southern Lehigh Service Unit 749 representative Kelli Di Cesare. “We thank Capital BlueCross and everyone else for their donation of time and community spirit in helping our local Girl Scouts celebrate their sister Girl Scouts all over the world.”

World Thinking Day not only gives girls a chance to celebrate international friendships, it is also a reminder that Girl Scouts of the USA is part of a global community—one of nearly 150 countries—with Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.
