Capital BlueCross Invites Community to
Free Health Fair at Capital Blue Store Oct. 10

Family event to feature children’s activities, entertainment, food, massages and health screenings

HARRISBURG, Pa. (Oct. 8, 2015) – Capital BlueCross invites the community to “fall into good health” with a free family health fair on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its Capital Blue store at the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley in Center Valley, Pa. The event is free and open to the public.

“Fall is a great time to get out and enjoy healthy family activities,” said Jenn Natalie, Capital BlueCross senior manager of Retail Strategy. “Our health fair at Capital Blue will have something for everyone, including children’s activities, health screenings for adults, and healthy food -- all free.”

Children will enjoy live music and entertainment from Cobblestone Players, a local children’s performing group. Mikayla's Voice, an organization that offers programs that educate, inspire, and empower kids of all ages and abilities, will be giving away the book High Fives and A Big Heart.

Other children’s activities will include face painting, crafts and dancing. Additionally, Community Partners 4 Kids will offer fingerprinting services for children, a vital resource for parents should their children ever go missing, and Lehigh Valley Health Network will provide vehicle passenger safety information.

While the kids are playing, adults can have their body mass index measured, blood pressure taken, hearing tested by Miracle Ear, and vision checked by The Center for Vision Loss. Relaxing chair massages also will be provided.

Guests can also sample healthy foods from the Rodale Café at Capital Blue, the store’s full-service café, including pumpkin pie and Bombay banana smoothies, hot squash toasties, kale Waldorf salad, fig bruschetta, roasted turkey cranberry pinwheel sandwiches, and freshly sliced apples with honey yogurt and caramel dipping sauces.
