Capital BlueCross to host free health fair May 30

Event to feature children’s recording artist Jim Rule, author Floyd Stokes

HARRISBURG, Pa. (May 26, 2015) – To help the community get ready for a safe and healthy summer, Capital BlueCross will host a free health fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 30 at the Capital Blue health and wellness store at the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley in Center Valley, Pa. The event is open to Capital BlueCross customers and non-customers.

“As school lets out for the summer, it is a perfect time for a renewed focus on how to have fun in the sun while taking care of our health,” said Jenn Natalie, senior manager of Capital Blue. “With free activities for children and adults, we look forward to interacting with our community and offering tips to live healthy while enjoying the outdoors and summer-time activities.”

During the health fair, children can meet Parent’s Choice Award-winning recording artist Jim Rule and local children’s book author Floyd Stokes. The event will also feature Community Partners 4 Kids who will create Child IDs for children in case they go missing, face painting, a photo booth, balloon art, fitness demonstrations, health screenings, and free giveaways.

Free healthy refreshments, such as veggie kabobs and fruit skewers, will be provided by the Rodale Café at Capital Blue.

Additionally, attendees will be able to receive a bone marrow screening by Be The Match. Other community partners participating in the event include The Coco Foundation, Lupus PA and Mikayla’s Voice.
