Capital BlueCross ranks No. 8 nationally in payer performance

Ranking signifies health care providers’ ease of working with the insurer

HARRISBURG, Pa. (Aug. 20, 2015) – Capital BlueCross has been ranked No. 8 nationally in athenahealth’s annual PayerView® report, which ranks insurance payers on how easy it is for health care providers to work with them.

The 2015 PayerView® report ranked 166 payers across the country on metrics such as days in accounts receivable and first-pass claim resolution rate. The report provides objective, comparative benchmarks for the insurance industry, with rankings derived from athenahealth's database of more than 64,000 health care providers.

In addition to ranking eighth overall, Capital BlueCross ranked No. 3 in “days in accounts receivable,” up from ninth in 2014.

A leader in service excellence, Capital BlueCross earlier this year scored higher than all health insurance companies tracked in the American Customer Satisfaction IndexTM (ACSI), the only national cross-industry benchmark of customer satisfaction of its kind.
