Our Live Healthy program is designed for employee wellness with services to help your employees learn and live in a better state of health. The Live Healthy components also help individuals reduce their risk of future illness.

Clinical Programs

Our Clinical Management helps members by evaluating, monitoring and coordinating the entire range of health services from exam and diagnosis through treatment and follow up. Here's how we add value in our health care coverage:

Care Management: designed to deliver member education and timely, high-quality outcomes, while promoting appropriate use of health care resources for optimum employee wellness.

Disease Management: a collaborative process to assess an individual's specific needs in managing a chronic condition; provides education and counseling to increase the individual's ability to self-manage his/her disease.

Maternity Management: a voluntary program individually designed for expectant mothers to support pregnancy, delivery and post-partum instances. The program supplements the advice and treatment provided by the member's Obstetric (OB) provider and physician team.

Utilization Management: evaluates the appropriateness, medical need and efficiency of health care services, procedures and facilities. Includes precertification, discharge planning and clinical case appeals. Concurrent clinical/peer reviews are also used, as well as appeals requested by the provider payer or patient.

Since 1990, Capital BlueCross has committed to caring for our planet and the environments we all share. We recycle in the workplace and practice energy conservation. Our community outreach programs include the United Way, MS, Diabetes, CHIP of PA (administered by CBC), Cultural Enrichment Fund and many others.
