The Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH) implemented CAQH ProView as a next generation system replacing the Universal Provider Datasource (UPD). To better streamline the credentialing process, Capital BlueCross will only accept this preferred method of credentialing to all of our providers effective November 1, 2016.
More than 1.3 million healthcare providers are now using this greatly enhanced solution, updated in 2015. CAQH ProView continues to be the premier credentialing tool. Created with feedback from healthcare providers and health plans, CAQH ProView offers new features that make it easier for providers to make updates, reducing the time and resources necessary to submit accurate, timely data to organizations that require that information. Time saving features enable healthcare providers to:
- Self-register with the system before a health plan initiates the application process.
- Upload supporting documents directly into CAQH ProView to eliminate the need for manual submission and to improve the timeliness of completed applications.
- Review and approve Practice Manager information before data is imported.
Providers can participate at no cost. Data is protected and only released to the plans that you authorize. More information here. If you have any questions or need assistance in completing your CAQH application, please contact the CAQH Help Desk at 1.888.599.1771.
For new providers who wish to participate with Capital BlueCross, please join our network.
All participating providers can add a practitioner to their group by submitting the appropriate information exchange form.
