Capital BlueCross is committed to offering health plans for individual consumers both on and off the Federally Facilitated Marketplace in 2017.

However, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) has brought extensive changes and instability to the health care industry. This has placed difficult financial burdens on consumers and created challenges for the long-term financial sustainability of many health insurance products.

Due to a significant variance in insurance rates by our competitors, as well as competitors discontinuing products on a wide scale or leaving the Federally Facilitated Marketplace altogether, Capital BlueCross is taking the necessary step of decreasing the number of plans we offer on the Marketplace. Starting November 1, 2016, you can explore Capital BlueCross medical, dental, and vision plans for 2017.
