Efficient Coordination and High-Quality Health Care

With Point-of-Service (POS) coverage, your employees’ PCP serves as the key coordinator to help bring about the highest quality and most cost-efficient health care. Capital BlueCross POS members look first to their PCP for care and referrals when necessary. In turn, their PCP tracks care prescribed or delivered by specialists to gain a broader understanding of the member’s overall health care experience, which can significantly reduce costs. With a POS plan, your employees may self-refer, but members will have higher out-of-pocket expense. When traveling, POS members have the peace of mind of carrying the trusted BlueCard for access to a broad, reliable network of services when they first notify their PCP to help coordinate their care. Members who choose a PCP from the Capital BlueCross network realize the greatest cost benefits.
