Universal Credentialing

Like many providers, we know you’d like to find a way to reduce your paperwork and administrative costs. Well, we have good news for you! Capital BlueCross now participates with the Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare’s (CAQH) Universal Provider Datasource® (UPD). UPD allows providers to electronically submit and update data for multiple business functions including credentialing.

Why should you participate with UPD?

If you register with UPD, you no longer need to complete an average of 10 to 15 paper applications per year. Instead you can submit a single, online form. The data is entered into a secure, centralized database that offers providers complete control of their information and the ability to actively manage and distribute updates.

CAQH credentialing reduces health care administration costs by reducing the paperwork maintained in providers’ offices and with insurance companies. Currently over 550 participating organizations and more than 825,000 providers have taken advantage of the universal credentialing system.
