Hospital Profile Tool
This helpful tool provides information on hospitals in a specific area based on procedure or diagnosis. Search results include the number of patients treated, complication rates, and average length of stay for the specific procedure or diagnosis selected.
To access the Hospital Profile tool:
- Go to http://provider.bcbs.com .
- Enter the three  letters (known as the Identification Prefix or Alpha Prefix) preceding the Identification Number on the front of your Capital BlueCross ID card and click ‘Submit.’
- Click on the ‘Review hospital profiles’ link at the bottom left-hand side of the page under ‘Related Links.’
Use this US Department of Health and Human Resources Web site to find publicly available information about quality measures for hospitals nationwide.
