Advance Payment Program for independent healthcare providers.
Capital BlueCross has implemented an Advance Payment Program (Program) to assist independent healthcare providers experiencing a significant reduction in payments due to the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
This Program will run from May 15, 2020 through July 15, 2020 to support our providers during this public health emergency.
To be eligible, providers must meet the following criteria:
Submit the application by June 30, 2020
Have submitted claims to Capital BlueCross within 180 days immediately prior to the date of signature on the application
During 2019, have a minimum average of $10,000 in monthly payments from Capital BlueCross excluding BlueCard claims (claims for out-of-area members)
Have more than a 40% decrease in average payments for services provided to Capital BlueCross members during March and April 2020 when compared to the established benchmark and have ongoing, comparable reductions as of the application date
Average monthly payments from calendar year 2019 will be used to establish the benchmark
Average monthly payments from March and April 2020 will used to compare to the benchmark
Not be in bankruptcy or actively pursuing bankruptcy filing
Be in good standing and have demonstrated a good business relationship with Capital BlueCross (such as no outstanding debt, sanctions, or claim coding integrity issues)
